Why Work With REI Hospitality

We are on the Coast, not in Nairobi

We are based in Malindi and work across Kilifi, Mombasa, Kwale, Lamu, Taita-Taveta and Tana River. We know the properties, we know the seasonal pattern, and we know who is available.

Candidates Are Vetted Before You See Them

We interview every candidate ourselves, confirm their work history, and check references with previous employers. You review a shortlist with our notes, not a stack of CVs.

We staff for the season as well as the year

Peak-season casuals, contract cover and permanent hires are all normal work for us. We keep a pool of people who have worked previous seasons and can start at short notice.

Your name stays yours

If you would rather not be named in a public advert, we advertise the role as a property type and location instead. Confidential is our default until you tell us otherwise.

Roles We Staff

We also recruit outside hospitality when a client asks, including administration, finance and support roles.

Questions Employers Ask

  • How long does REI Hospitality take to fill a role?

For common hospitality roles on the Coast, such as waiting staff, housekeepers and kitchen assistants, REI Hospitality usually presents a shortlist within five to seven working days. Senior and specialist roles such as an executive chef or a general manager typically take two to four weeks.

  • Do you recruit for seasonal positions?

Yes. Seasonal hiring is a normal part of coastal hospitality, and REI Hospitality staffs properties through the December to March and July to September peaks. We keep a pool of candidates who have worked previous seasons and can start at short notice.

  • What areas do you cover?

REI Hospitality covers the whole Kenyan Coast, including Malindi, Watamu, Kilifi, Mtwapa, Mombasa, Diani and Lamu. We also place staff in Nairobi, Nakuru and other parts of Kenya where clients need them.

  • How does REI Hospitality vet candidates?

Every candidate is interviewed by REI Hospitality before being put forward. We confirm their work history, check references with previous employers, and verify relevant certificates and food-handling documentation where the role requires them.

  • What does it cost an employer?

REI Hospitality charges the employer a placement fee, agreed before we begin. Candidates are never charged anything at any stage.
