Guiding Hospitality. Transforming Destinations.

Hotels are built by contractors. Hospitality businesses are built by people who have run one.

We advise hotel investors, owners and operators across Kenya and Africa — from the first drawings through construction, opening and the years that follow. Twenty-five years of running properties, applied to yours.

Based in Malindi, Kilifi County. Working throughout Kenya and across Africa.

Supporting hospitality excellence across the entire investment lifecycle — from vision and design to operations, growth and long-term success.

Where We Are Useful

All five service lines

Stage one

Before the Hotel Exists

An operator's eye while the drawings are still on paper is the cheapest money an investor spends.

Most consultants are called in after a property opens and something is not working. By then the kitchen is the wrong size, the back of house has no route to the rooms, and the staffing model costs more than the rooms earn.

Development Advisory

Stage two

Once It Is Running

We work alongside your team. A report handed over at the door changes nothing.

Operational assessment, management systems, standard operating procedures, costing and pricing, and the training that makes them hold. And when the constraint is people rather than process, our recruitment division finds them.

Operations Management

What We Do

How an Engagement Runs

  1. Listen

Your vision, your constraints and what you are actually trying to achieve.

  2. Assess

A proper look at the property, the numbers and the systems, not a walk-through.

  3. Design

Solutions built for your property rather than lifted from a template.

  4. Implement

We work alongside your team. Reports on their own change nothing.

  5. Grow

Review, refine and keep the improvement in place after we leave.

Who You Will Be Dealing With

REI Hospitality Kenya was founded by Dr. Titus M. Kangangi, PhD, after more than twenty-five years in hotel operations, hospitality management and tourism governance.

He founded the firm to close the gap between hospitality investment and hospitality success — the distance between a building that is finished and a business that works.

Great hospitality is not measured by the size of a building, but by the quality of the guest experience, the strength of its people and the sustainability of its business.

REI Hospitality Careers

A beautiful hotel attracts guests once. The people in it decide whether anyone comes back.

We recruit across every department — general managers, executive chefs, front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, finance, engineering and security — and we interview and reference-check every candidate ourselves before you meet them.

Candidates are never charged. Applying, registering and being placed are free at every stage.

Questions We Are Asked

  • What does REI Hospitality Kenya do?

REI Hospitality Kenya is a hospitality development and operational excellence consultancy based in Malindi, Kilifi County. It advises hotel investors, owners and operators across Kenya and Africa on development, operations, recruitment, training, and costing and pricing. Recruitment runs as a division, REI Hospitality Careers.

  • Where does REI Hospitality Kenya work?

REI Hospitality Kenya is based in Malindi, Kilifi County, and works throughout Kenya, with particular depth on the Coast: Malindi, Watamu, Kilifi, Mtwapa, Mombasa, Diani and Lamu. It also takes consultancy assignments elsewhere in Africa.

  • Who founded REI Hospitality Kenya?

Dr. Titus M. Kangangi, after more than twenty-five years in hotel operations, hospitality management, tourism governance and organisational leadership. He founded the firm to close the gap between hospitality investment and operational success.

  • When should a hotel investor bring in a hospitality consultancy?

As early as the drawings. An operator's eye on a building that is still on paper costs far less than rebuilding a kitchen too small for the covers it has to serve, or a back of house with no route to the rooms. REI Hospitality also works with properties that are already open and not running the way they should.

  • What can a consultancy do for a hotel that is already open?

Operational assessment of the property as it runs today, organisational structure and departmental design, standard operating procedures and departmental manuals, quality and inspection systems, costing and pricing, and the training that makes all of it hold. REI Hospitality implements alongside the property's own managers rather than handing over a document.

  • How do I start working with REI Hospitality Kenya?

Book a consultation and describe what is happening at your property. Most clients arrive with a symptom rather than a diagnosis. The first conversation is free and carries no obligation.

  • Does REI Hospitality charge people looking for work?

Never. Employers pay the placement fee. Applying, registering and being placed are free at every stage, and anyone asking a candidate for money in REI Hospitality's name is not REI Hospitality.

Planning Something?

A hotel, a resort, a restaurant, or a property that is not performing the way it should. The first conversation is free and carries no obligation.
