About the Property
Diani Reef Beach Resort & Spa is a five-star beachfront resort on 34 acres of white sand on the Diani corridor of Kwale's south coast. It has been named Kenya's leading beach resort at the World Travel Awards more than once across two decades of operation.
The resort holds 143 rooms in a main building, facing either the ocean or the gardens. Every one has a balcony, a bathroom with both a shower and a bath and rainfall fittings, a marble vanity, robes and toiletries, a flat-screen television, a desk, tea and coffee, a minibar and WiFi. The rooms are laid out for stays of several nights rather than one.
There are two outdoor pools in the gardens, direct beach access, and wind-surfing, snorkelling and scuba diving run through professional operators. The spa covers massage, aromatherapy and facial treatments, and there is a fitness centre for guests who keep a routine while they travel.
Three restaurants divide the cooking between them: the Coral Rock Cafe for breakfast, Sake for oriental fusion, and Fins for seafood and grills. Three bars serve through the day and into the evening, with entertainment on some nights.
For business and for weddings there are six meeting rooms and 5,577 square feet of conference space, with banquet facilities and event coordination behind them. Concierge, currency exchange, room service, tours and airport transfers are all arranged in-house.
Accessibility is taken seriously: the property, its parking, its registration desk, its business centre and its restaurants are wheelchair accessible, and lifeguards cover the beach and the pools. Cleaning products are eco-friendly, which on this stretch of coast is a decision about the reef rather than a gesture. Children's facilities and programming make it workable for several generations travelling together.
Mombasa's city centre is 45 minutes by road. The boundary of the Diani-Chale Marine National Park and Reserve is 493 metres away, and Tiwi Beach is 3.1 kilometres up the coast.
